A spy soldier

Once there was a kingdom named Shambhupur. Thieves troubled the people of the

kingdom. Hence, the king decided to find a solution to the problem. He asked

his minister to suggest a plan to get hold of the thieves. The minister thought for

a while and suggested that a soldier be sent as a spy to the thieves group so that

he can pass on all the information. "Before catching the thieves we need to catch

the gang leader" said the minister. "What you said is absolutely right, as the

gang's leader has lion's share in the money that is stolen by the thieves" said the

king. In due course of time, the thieves were caught with the help of the spy-

spy-soldier. The king rewarded the minister with 100 gold coins.

Once there was a kingdom ruled by a certain king. He had a brave soldier called Manu.

The king was very proud of Manu and thus said to people “I have a brave soldier in my kingdom. Whenever he goes to war only our kingdom wins the war”. Hearing this all the citizens were excited to see him. Very few people had seen him. Thieves were frightened just by listening to Manu’s name. One day the king called  Manu and said “Manu, I am very proud of you. I desire to fulfill your wish. Let me know your wish". Manu said “My Lord, there is a certain village named Sarayu. There people are suffering from drought. They don’t have money to get sufficient food. I want you to help the people in Sarayu village". The king said “Manu, I appreciate your concern for others. You did not ask anything for yourself instead you asked for the village people! I am very proud of you. From now on, you are not just a soldier, I am appointing you as my minister”

The king rewarded him with ten thousand gold coins.

Story-Who wins the fight

Once there lived a lion in the forest. He always thought that he was the most powerful animal in the forest.

Next day, he announced a competition in which an animal who defeats him will become the king of the forest. First it was elephant's turn and it was defeated. Next, it was buffalo's turn, even it got defeated. Now it was the hare's turn. He was very intelligent. He said to lion” Oh great king of forest, you are so invincible that nobody can defeat you. But there is another lion who can defeat you”. “Who is that?” the lion asked. The hare then took the lion to another forest and said “There is a lion in this forest who is even more powerful than you. You both are invincible equally but who is invincible between the two of you can be decided only when you fight with each other. Are you ready to fight with other lion?” The lion immediately agreed to fight with other lion. The fight continued...the hare watched the fight for sometime and then decided to kill both the animals in one go. He threw a big boulder on the animals and it came rolling on the lions, and both the animals were dead. The hare ruled both the forests and all animals lived happily.

Moral: Do not overestimate yourself.

The honest farmer’s son

There was a farmer called Ramu. He had 3 sons. Ginesh, Kamalesh and Mahesh. As he was getting old, he decided to divide the fields among all the sons. But before giving the fields he wanted to check who is most eligible son who would take care of the fields. One day he called all the three sons and said ‘ I will give all my fields to the most eligible person. But to know who is the most eligible person I will give test to all three of you’. Ramu took all the three sons to a cow shed and said ‘these three cows are magical cows. Each one of you take one cow and feed them for ten days. The one who feeds it with proper food after ten days his cow will change into golden colour’. Ginesh,Mahesh and Kamalesh took their cows and were feeding them. But their father Ramu also told them to work in fields. But Ginesh and Kamalesh were not working in fields. They used to feed the cow more and more. But Mahesh was honest as he worked in fields and he was feeding his cow too. After ten days none of their cows turned golden colour. But now they had to show their cows to their father. Ginesh and Kamalesh painted the cow with a desire that their father would give all the fields to them. But Mahesh was honest and he did not paint his cow golden colour. All of them went to their father. Mahesh said ‘Father forgive me as my cow did not turn into golden colour. You can give the fields to my elder brothers’. Then Ramu said with laughter ‘ These cows are not magical I said it because to test you. But for the sake of getting fields Ginesh and Kamalesh painted golden colour for their cows. This shows their dishonesty and greediness. Hence I have decided to give the fields to Mahesh’.

Moral: Be honest .
