The honest farmer’s son

There was a farmer called Ramu. He had 3 sons. Ginesh, Kamalesh and Mahesh. As he was getting old, he decided to divide the fields among all the sons. But before giving the fields he wanted to check who is most eligible son who would take care of the fields.One day he called all the three sons and said ‘ I will give all my fields to the most eligible person. But to know who is the most eligible person I will give test to all three of you’. Ramu took all the three sons to a cow shed and said ‘these three cows are magical cows. Each one of you take one cow and feed them for ten days. The one who feeds it with proper food after ten days his cow will change into golden colour’. Ginesh,Mahesh and Kamalesh took their cows and were feeding them. But their father Ramu also told them to work in fields. But Ginesh and Kamalesh were not working in fields. They used to feed the cow more and more. But Mahesh was honest as he worked in fields and he was feeding his cow too. After ten days none of their cows turned golden colour. But now they had to show their cows to their father. Ginesh and Kamalesh painted the cow with a desire that their father would give all the fields to them. But Mahesh was honest and he did not paint his cow golden colour. All of them went to their father. Mahesh said ‘Father forgive me as my cow did not turn into golden colour. You can give the fields to my elder brothers’. Then Ramu said with laughter ‘ These cows are not magical I said it because to test you. But for the sake of getting fields Ginesh and Kamalesh painted golden colour for their cows. This shows their dishonesty and greediness. Hence I have decided to give the fields to Mahesh’.
